Staff
There is a permanent team of trainers, each of whom is trained to teach antenatal or postnatal courses from the perspective of her individual background. The trainers have periodic meetings for consultation, which are also attended by a midwife or another member of the Birth Centre staff.
Pascal Bonnet (Pregnancy Yoga)
Greetje Schaap (yoga)
Mirjam Vos (Pregnant and Fit, Moving with your Baby, and Baby Massage)
Since Mirjam was very young she has been fascinated by movement and has always danced. Originally she trained as a dance teacher and dancer. The arrival of her daughter (1990) inspired her to conceive and realise the course Moving with your Baby. After her son was born (1994) she studied baby massage and trained in haptonomy. Gradually she became more interested in pregnancy, birth and parenthood, and trained to teach the courses ‘Pregnant & Fit’ (Zwanger en Fit) and ‘Giving Birth Together’ (Samen Bevallen). She is certified to practise swaddling according to the Ria Blom method.
Mirjam has worked with babies and their mothers or fathers since 1992, and with pregnant women and their partners since 1995, with the Birth Centre Amsterdam as her home base. Because she likes to work at a personal and individual level with course participants, the groups are never large. She is also a tutor on the teacher training course for ‘Giving Birth Together’. To sustain her feeling for practice, she is regularly present at births. She also attends many in-service training days and symposiums.

Tanja Secrève (Antenatal Yoga and Course for Couples)
After completing her training, Tanja began teaching antenatal yoga courses in 1993, at the Birth Centre and elsewhere. Having followed a variety of training courses in massage (including sport massage and shiatsu massage) she has had twelve years of experience with massaging pregnant women (and sometimes the expectant fathers). To gain experience with births she worked for four years as a maternity assistant. She has attended many births and applies this experience in her antenatal yoga courses. At the Birth Centre, apart from the Antenatal Yoga course, Tanja also teaches the Course for Couples, aimed at pregnant women together with their partners. She also gives baby massage lessons to parents in their own home, and private lessons for people who for various reasons are unable to attend a course.
Since 2004 Tanja has been director of the Mudra School for Antenatal Yoga.
